The server suddenly became unaccessible.
|Client||Kita-Kyushu, Fukuoka/corporate customer (transportation industry)
|HDD configuration||1 x 1 TB
|Symptoms indicated by customer
It became suddenly unable to access data on our internally shared LinkStation. The power was ON, but the error lamp was flashing.
The product was almost new and we had not taken back-up yet.
We have condensed all of our internal data and saved on the LinkStation immediately after purchasing, so the amount of the data locked in it was enormous.
The data mainly consisted of photos, videos and vital data used on a daily basis such as customer information and invoices prepared with Excel.
We will fall behind in our daily work without them, therefore need to recover the equipment urgently.

|Technical staff handling, comments
We have checked the hard disk in the LinkStation/LS-V1.0TL and a logical fault was found. Using our own recovery tool, we scanned the HDD and retrieved the customer's data.
The customer's LinkStation contained data vital for the day-to-day running of the company, dand therefore they requested urgent recovery.
We got to work on the problem as soon as the customer brought the LinkStation to us in the morning, and were able to complete the recovery by the following day.
The customer experienced only minimal disruption to operations, and were extremely satisfied.
Many customers realize the importance of backing up data when it's about to be lost.
All HDDs have a limited life time, and therefore it is strongly recommended to take back-ups as early as possible.
